Storm Knocks Out Power To Thousands In Dutchess

Thousands are without power in Dutchess County at midday on Sunday as a storm that brought accumulating snow, sleet and freezing rain winds down.

Just before noontime, 3,541 outages are being reported in Dutchess by Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corp. The estimated restoration time is 2 p.m. Sunday.

A multi-vehicle crash is causing a road closure in the county. It occurred just before noon Sunday on Albany Post Road in Hyde Park and involved a car and tractor-trailer. At least one serious injury has been reported and the road is expected to be closed several hours for the accident investigation.
